TrainingPros and One Tree Planted Partner on Global Reforestation

ATLANTA, Ga, April 22, 2021 – TrainingPros, a leading provider of contract-based learning and development (L&D) talent, is celebrating Earth Day by announcing a global “one for one” partnership with reforestation non-profit One Tree Planted. The company has set a goal of planting 10,000 trees over the next several years.

The program officially kicked off earlier this year. TrainingPros has pledged to plant one tree on behalf of every consultant they put to work.

“We care deeply about our consultants, our communities, and our planet; it is at the core of who we are as a company,” said TrainingPros CEO Leighanne Lankford. “We are proud to have the opportunity to partner with One Tree Planted on a cause all of us at TrainingPros are passionate about. Planting trees to help our environment is just the beginning of a larger journey as we continue to do our part and find more ways we can give back.”

Deforestation Impacts Everyone

Trainingpros + One Tree PlantedPlanting trees is one of the best ways we can fight the devastating effects of climate change. Trees are vital to our planet because they clean the air we breathe, help filter the water we drink and are home to more than 80% of our planet’s terrestrial biodiversity.

Trees also have a profound social impact because they provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, empower women in underdeveloped nations, and help rebuild areas like California devastated by environmental damage.

The effects deforestation is having on our planet are alarming:

  • We have already lost more than 46% of the Earth’s forests
  • Every 1.2 seconds, we destroy an area of forest the size of a football field
  • Every single day the planet loses more than 80,000 acres of forest
  • 70% of the planet’s land-based animals and plants call our forests home
  • 28,000 plant and animal species will become extinct in the next 25 years due to their habitat being destroyed
  • The United States is less than 5% of the world’s population yet consumes 30% of the world’s paper every year

Last month TrainingPros’ support planted more than 250 trees on behalf of the company’s consultants. The company is also working on plans to make a more direct impact.

“One of the main reasons we chose One Tree Planted as our partner was their love of what they do. They also offered us the opportunity to work alongside them,” said Lankford. “We loved the idea of organizing tree planting events in some of the where communities we live and work.”

These events will allow TrainingPros’ employees, consultants, and clients to get their hands in the dirt together.
