Learning Experience Design (LXD)

Learning experience design (LXD) is a creative field dedicated to optimizing the learner’s experience and achieving their goals. It employs a holistic approach, integrating design principles from user experience design (UXD), alongside insights from cognitive psychology and instructional design. The aim of LXD is to create engaging, effective learning environments that facilitate desired outcomes in a comfortable and enjoyable manner.

David Kolb first published his model in 1984. The original model had a four-stage learning cycle: active experimentation, concrete experience, reflective observation, and abstract conceptualization.
