Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is a psychological theory developed by Abraham Maslow in 1943, which proposes that human needs are arranged in a hierarchical order, from the most basic physiological needs to the more complex needs of self-actualization.

According to Maslow, individuals must satisfy lower-level needs before they can attend to higher-level needs. The hierarchy is typically represented as a pyramid with five levels, although Maslow later expanded it to include additional levels. The core levels of the hierarchy are physiological, safety, love and belonging, esteem, and self-actualization.
