70-20-10 Rule

The 70-20-10 rule is a learning and development model suggesting that 70% of learning comes from on-the-job experiences, 20% from interactions with others, and 10% from formal training events.  Leadership researchers Morgan McCall, Michael M. Lombardo, and Robert A. Eichinger created the model in the 1980s to describe the educational experiences of successful managers. It’s commonly used in the learning and development sector.
