Learning Experience Platforms (LXPs) began to emerge in the mid-2010s as a response to the evolving needs of the corporate training and learning and development (L&D) landscape. The first LXPs were developed as an evolution of traditional Learning Management Systems (LMSs), driven by the increasing demand for more personalized, learner-centric experiences that catered to the diverse and rapidly changing needs of the workforce.

An LMS Administrator is responsible for the maintenance of the LXP.
