Learning Strategist

A Learning Strategist is a learning and development professional who focuses on aligning training initiatives with organizational goals. Instead of creating individual courses, a learning strategist looks at the bigger picture such as business priorities, performance gaps, learner needs, and long-term capability building in order to recommend the most effective mix of solutions.

Learning strategists analyze the current state of the workforce, identify what skills or behaviors need to change, and design a cohesive learning plan that may include formal training, on-the-job experiences, coaching, mentoring, performance support, or technology-enabled solutions. They work closely with leaders, subject matter experts , and stakeholders to ensure learning efforts are purposeful, measurable, and tied to meaningful outcomes.
Their role is to help organizations invest in the right learning experiences, avoid unnecessary training, and create scalable, high-impact solutions that support both employee performance and business results.
