Performance Support
Performance support refers to the provision of resources, tools, and assistance designed to help employees perform tasks and solve problems in real-time, thereby enhancing their effectiveness and efficiency on the job. Unlike traditional training, which often occurs before or outside the context of work, performance support is integrated in the flow of work, offering immediate, just-in-time assistance that employees can access whenever they need it. The goal of performance support is to empower employees to complete tasks accurately and efficiently without interrupting their workflow to seek out additional help or training.
Examples of performance support include job aids, help systems, knowledge bases, performance support aids, and embedded learning tools.
