The award-winning Manager Training Program was developed to help a national organization prepare new and existing managers for success while building a pipeline of future leaders. The program combined engaging, self-paced eLearning with practical resources, real-world leadership experiences, and opportunities for professional development.
A key feature of the program was its use of relatable characters and scenario-based storytelling to help learners navigate common management challenges. Short video interviews with experienced leaders brought authentic insights and practical advice into the curriculum, while bite-sized lessons made learning more accessible and engaging.
The program also featured a searchable learning catalog and a comprehensive workbook with development roadmaps, competency self-assessments, job aids, and practical activities. This learner-centered approach allowed managers with varying levels of experience to access relevant learning based on their individual development needs.
Implemented across more than 850 locations nationwide, the initiative supported three important talent development goals: accelerating proficiency for new managers, preparing Center Managers for District Manager roles, and developing District Managers for Regional Manager positions.
